I said I wasn't going to do this but I did it. I love the V20 and there are things I definitely miss about it like the second screen but I had to try out the S8 Plus. I'm just a complete freak about smart phones and have been upgrading twice a year for like 3 years now. The guy at AT&T was laughing at me because I was talking about how much I love the V20 and he was like "why do you want to switch then?"

So far I'm really liking the S8 Plus. Still getting used to Samsung's idiotic placement of the fingerprint scanner but I am getting used to it.

Anyway, I've enjoyed being part of the V20 crowd. I'll still be browsing a bit in this forum but I'll mostly be in S8 land now. Just wanted to say later to you guys. I'll probably back to LG when the V30 drops. LOL

I saw someone posted the exact title. But he came back to V20. So who knows. Laters lool

Lol that was me. Love the V20, more practical in terms of shape and button placement and features. I liked the S8 Plus camera, but couldn't justify the $900 pricetag. Although camera of the S8 is better, the V20 offers front and rear wide angle cameras, and also the 16MP is sometimes better in some cases. I was most annoyed with not being able to install screen protector/case at the same time. S8 is an excellent phone however. Enjoy the S8! I might be looking into the next Note, S8 Active or V30!

The IR blaster is OK but not a deal breaker for me. I would be upset if it goes glass and sealed.

Same here. I can let the IR blaster go, but all glass build and sealed back is a deal breaker. Will just go back to Samsung probably.

I'll try another phone later this year. Not decided on which yet. When I do I'll still keep my V20 as backup. I handled the S8, and it does feel and look very good.

Yeah, no IR blaster is a real bummer for me on the S8+ but oh well. I am digging the fact that I can use my wireless charger at night again with the S8+ though. I DO NOT like the location of the fingerprint scanner at all but I am getting used to it. I think it will be better once my case comes in and I can actually feel where it's supposed to be. The S8 is so sleek that it's really hard to feel the fingerprint reader given it's awkward placement. I did find that it was hard to find the V20 fingerprint scanner without a case as well though and the placement on the V20 is perfect IMO. I read somewhere that Samsung wanted to have the fingerprint scanner as touch screen on front of the device but weren't having any luck so they stuck it near the camera. It's probably the only place they could squeeze it in. Guaranteed that they relocate it on their next device.

Should have placed it in the center, but it looked nicer next to camera. S8+ is more design than practicality. V20 is more Superior in terms of placement of buttons and functions. But S8+ has better specs and hardware including camera.
