So today we got to hold and use the Nexus for the first time. We met with a Samsung area manager and she said her guess for a release was a week from today, but she wasn't sure. She said the issue that needs fixed, in her mind, shouldn't take that long to fix, but would not elaborate on what the issue was.

I have read others comments regarding how the phone didn't have the typical cheap Samsung feel to it, but I have to disagree. I felt the Charge felt cheap and likewise with the Nexus.

I admit I did not get in to much in depth usage, but if a phone doesn't capture me immediately, then it's hard to impress me. The area manager isn't very smart, and kept trying to impress us with ridiculous things like how great the camera quality was for a 5 mp camera.

I have to be honest and say, after handling it and going through the presentation, and trying to keep an open mind as an above average rep when it comes to product knowledge, I hope it's everything you folks want it to be when you are able to get it, because it didn't live up to the hype for me.

For me the Nexus device is more about the software and the way the software runs on the hardware. I'm less concerned with it feeling cheap. My Bionic feels nice yet it runs like crap sometimes.

I probably made the post sound like I based my opinion on how it felt, and if that is how it came off, that wasn't my intention.

So what phone does impress you then?

No one's trolling here.............

That is hard to answer, because when you have been in this business as long as I have, the phones all start to run together. If I could have the perfect phone, it would be two thirds Apple ingenuity and one third Android.

Ok let me put it in other words. You have played with the GN and didn't care for it to much. Out of the phones that somebody can walk into a store and buy today, which one do you think is the overall best?

He made it obvious he is a apple fan, well 2/3 one, so his choice would be obvious

@txtuff you should call the fry road store, they are always on it and might have good info or let you get one early lol.

I love Android and I don't like Apple, but if there is something that I like I will completely acknowledge it.
The only thing that I would take from an iPhone is its smoothness...and for my flavoring its smoothness has become negligible in regards to the newer Android phones. I wouldn't even take its screen; Samsung's screens are so much more enjoyable to look at.

For what I do and how I do it, I need the flexibility an Android phone provides. Straight out of the box, I can get more done on any Android phone than I can on an iPhone...desktop-like web access, easy file management, easy work-arounds, etc.

I have conceded, Android will not beat the iPhone...at least for right now. Androids present too many problems for normal people. iPhones are idiot-proof.

Anyway....yea, Galaxy Nexus. With all these early hands-on reviews, has anyone given an in depth review on the screen? I know it's a boring subject but I'm not plunking down $600+ for a phone that doesn't have a screen at least as good as the Charge's.

Seacrest OUT!

Anytime I have tried to get info from them they have stonewalled me. They wouldn't even give me info on the BB Storm 2 the day before it came out (yes I was one of those suckers and am still using it), I pretty much asked the manger why was she lying to me and she didn't care for that to much LOL.

Android is currently beating Apple when it comes to phones.

I am going to wait until June to buy anything. I think the Nexus will spark some interesting models to show up by then, and we should be seeing a true iPhone 5, so I think there will be more choices. The current 4G offerings are getting old

idc what its like or how it feels! your not a hardcore geek unless you got a nexus! although wouldn't it be nice if HTC made it, imo their phones always feel like high quality

Just because they are as heavy as a brick? I think the Razr feels decent, although I honestly think it is too thin. I mean to go from a 14mm thick phone in the Thunderbolt to one half the thickness in the Razr is just a little too drastic for me I think. That's why I'm excited about the Galaxy Nexus.

I got a chance to check out the Rezound and the Razr and in a way I'm glad the Galaxy Nexus didn't come before those 2. While both the Rezound and Razr are nice, the Rezound is just the same old HTC and Sense has become a little stale to me, and the Razr is really nice, but Blur just seemed a bit overwhelming and the large bezel makes the screen seem smaller than it actually is.

I feel quite the opposite about those 2 phones. Sense is overwhelming, Blur is the definition of the word underwhelming.

You won't see an Iphone with 4G until all the carriers get their e together with 4G technology.
