Android Central Question

hello all

i have created a folder on my phone that contain my maps i want quick acees to
how can i transfer this folder to my new phone ?

Thanks

"Folder" is a concept, not a "thing". But you can use something like WiFi File Transfer. Create the folder on the new phone (with a file manager app), then run WiFi File Transfer on the old phone and your web browser on the new phone (the screen on the old phone will be showing you the address to connect to) and transfer all the files in the folder on the old phone to the same-named folder on the new phone.

(You could also use a PC - copy the folder from the old phone to the PC, then copy it from the PC to the new phone.)

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? When you plug the phone into your PC via USB, swipe down the notification panel and tap the USB icon, then make sure MTP (or File Transfer) is selected. Then on the PC, open Windows Explorer, open the phone in the device list, then look for your folder there.

This is assuming that you created an actual directory on the phone's internal storage that contains files. What maps are you referring to? Are these image files or PDFs? Where on the phone did you create the folder?

I've never created a Google Maps shortcut for a specific map, but I can tell you that the map shortcut you created on the homescreen is not a file you can simply transfer. I suspect that you'll just have to create those map shortcuts again on the new G6.
