hi i have just purchased a note 12.2,can any one please help and give me a step by step guide on how to transfer films i have downloaded on the note 12.2 to the sd card, many thanks for any repiles.

I use an SD card adapter for the Micro SD. If you bought a Micro SD card, it probably came with an adapter.

I shut down the NotePro, remove the Micro SD and plug it into an SD card adapter, plug the card (in the adapter) into my laptop, and then once the laptop recognizes the card (a window pop-up with options; I chose the “open to view files") and then I drag and drop the files I have on my laptop to the card. After the file transfer is complete, I eject the card and pop it back into the NotePro and restart.

(And as Dennis Miller used to say: “we have two for this one”) – or – you could use Kies (Google it).

I think the OP meant they wanted to move already installed apps (downloaded and installed from Google and the like) from the internal SD card to the external. Yes?

I've only recently got my new Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 myself and, at the rate I'm installing things, moving stuff to the external SD micro card is going to soon become a necessity.

However... I don't fancy Knox ratting on Samsung and voiding my warranty so I'm not keen on rooting at the moment.

Another however... I found a version of AppMgr III which seems to work just fine on KitKat 4.4 without the need for rooting. Easy to use, it gives you a few pointers first then each time you run it, up pops a screen with a list of thing which can be moved to your plug-in SD card - which was most of the stuff I installed, tbh!

I've not posted enough on the forums to give you a link but it's distributed by TeamAPK. If you google "TeamAPK" and "AppMgr III", it should be the first link on the results page.

I have scanned this for viruses on my desktop computer and AVG says it's clean. If you have a card reader on another comp, just copy this to your plug-in SD card or use a USB flash drive and run it on your tablet.

Hope this helps.

Hmm, strike 2? I don't think the OP meant apps either. I could be wrong though, depends how these "films" were downloaded.

@gynfor123 : We need more information in order to help you. How were these downloaded, in an application itself like Google Play Movies or Samsung's own media programs or were these files you downloaded off of some website or transferred to internal storage via USB cable from a computer? If these are files that stand alone (like AVI , MP4, MOV, MKV etc. etc.) then the operation may not be that involved, you may simply have to navigate to their location using My Files app, copy them (using long press to select multiple files), navigate to externalSD, create a folder if you wish, and paste them.

My bad. I didn't read properly.

Surely movies can just be copied over? I tried moving a video from the internal SD card to the external by the usual means - copy and paste. (I'm assuming cut and paste should just work as well.)

In which case... gwynfor123, try this.

Navigate to the movie you want to move on your internal SD card (go to My Files and you'll find your storage devices there - "Device Storage" is the one you want, there's a folder called "Movies" where your downloaded films will probably be.). When you've found the one you want to copy/move, go to the top right of the screen and you'll see a vertical line of 3 dots. Press that and choose "select". A box will appear beside all your files. Click on the movie you want to copy/move. Then go back to the top right of the screen and choose either the "copy" or "cut" icon, then navigate to where you want to copy/move it to and at the top of the screen you'll see the option "paste/move here". Press that and you should be done.

I had to comment. Everyone seems to be making this transferring very complicated. If you want to move apps from internal to SD card go to Settings> General>Application Manager. Select the app you want to move. About halfway down the screen on the left side there is an option to "Move to SD card". If it grayed out app can not be moved (unrooted). If it is white, tap it and app will move. I have about 20 apps running from SD card with no issues. If you want to move it back to internal do the same procedure. Option will be "Move to internal Storage"
Transferring files or folders is very easy also. Open the built in "My Files" app, find the file, folder, photo, video you want. In the upper right corner there are 3 dots, tap on them for a drop down menu, tap select then got to whatever you want by tapping the red box next to it. When all the files you want moved are check marked go to the top of the screen. There are five symbols to choose. The middle one is a folder with an arrow, tap on that. You will get the option that says "move here" Don't tap this option yet. Now move to the left of the screen and choose which storage area (device memory, external storage) you want to move selected items to. When you get to where you want go back to upper right corner and tap "move here". Done. This will also work for copying. I also use 500GB external drive and transfers work fine using same procedure. It is really a very quick and simple process.
Hope this helps
