Transfered Music Files Not Showing Up

I have a 2XL and am trying to use the Google Play Music app for the 1st time since I have a Google phone. Transfered all of my music files onto the 2XL from a Note 3 during the initial file transfer process. However only about a third of the music files show in the library but all the files show in music folder if I connect the phone to the computer. The music files came from a SD card that was used on a LG and Samsung phone with no problems. The majority if the files come directly from purchased CD's. Does anyone know what is wrong?

I had a similar problem. Check the format of the files that aren't showing up vs the ones that are. I had to convert a bunch of my files to MP3.

I resolved this by disabling the Google Play Music app and adding another music app that played multiple music files that includes WMA files.
It worked. All my files can now be played.
It was too much work to change the WMA file extensions, especially when I had two previous phones that played the same files with no issues.
