Transfering calendar to S9+

Just got the S9+ late this afternoon after my LG V10 suddenly died. I have a Galaxy Tab A 10.1 & figured it would be easy to transfer everything from the tab to the phone via smart switch. All went well except I can't transfer my calendar. It doesn't even give me the option to do so. Any suggestions? I'm not very tech savvy so any help would be appreciated.

Are the calendar events on your Tab A saved to your Google Calendar account, or some other calendar account? You can tell by going to calendar.google.com on your computer browser and seeing if the events are there. If they are, then they'll sync to the phone automatically, as long as you're using the same Google account.
