Hi all -

I'm brand new to all things Android, so this is (I think) a very basic question.

I've been asked to develop an app for the Android platform. I've written the app using Qt and now have an .apk file. It's my understanding that the next step is to download the .apk file to my tabled (a Galaxy Tab A with what appears to be an 8" display).

My device does show up in Windows Explorer. I copied the file to the Download folder on the tablet, and the file shows up as copied in the Explorer window. But I don't see the file on my tablet.

I tried to follow the instructions on this page: https://support.google.com/android/answer/9064445?hl=en#zippy=%2Cwindows-computer

But I don't get the "Charging this device via USB" notification.

Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks...

Welcome to Android Central! Which tablet are you using? Disconnect it from the computer and use the file manager app to look in the /Download folder -- do you see it now?

If you are sure that you copied the apk file to the Download folder on the tablet, open Files app in the tablet, navigate to 'Internal Storage - Download' folder, you will find that file.
