transfering photos from nexus 6p to my laptop with usb can you help

is there a simple way to move photos from nexus 6p onto my laptop , Im finding my phone to be rather difficult to do simple tasks

Make sure that your setting the phone as file storage when you hook it up to the comp?? Should be as simple as drag and drop.

plug it in, pull down status bar, tap USB for charging, select photo transfer. WAALAA

I use Airdroid to move files back and forth between Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, and PC. No connecting to PC with cable. The transfer itself takes a little longer, but for me, the convenience makes up for it.

just open google photos website on your laptop. they are all there.

Not if you don't use cloud services, which I do not. I'm often not in range of a data connection and can't depend on cloud services, so I just turned them off.

Go into Device Manager and uninstall the device in there be sure to check the box to also delete the drivers. Plug in Nexus again.

I use photos app with original file size selected. 14 gigs of space is a lot for me. If I come close to filling up, i'll move them to another cloud storage, drive, onedrive, etc.

I transfer photos to my PC using Total Commander. It's a great file manager for Windows that makes life easy.

"USB for Charging" is very hard to find. It is at the very bottom of the list of scroll-able notifications. Easy to miss...

No need for plugging into just do it through Google photos on your web browser.
