Transformer Price Drop @ Gamestop, confirmed as permanent.

Hey Guys, I went to Gamestop yesterday looking to buy the Asus Transformer, and I saw a $299 price on it. I asked the manager there if this was a permanent drop or just for sale, and he said that it was a permanent $299 price. Also, he mentioned that if you take in the ad for Black Friday, that you get another $30 off, and you get a free game controller with purchase of a tablet. Everyone looking to purchase this, but don not want to wait in line at Best Buy for the $250, should go try to find this at their local Gamestop!

As far as I know, they only said like an ad, i'm guessing its their printable one from today, I'm not aware of any other one, sorry i couldnt help much!

Not sure if I can add to the GameStop thread with this but hhgregg also has the Transformer for this price. Not sure if it's Black Friday deal or permanent but I placed an order a few hours ago and it went through. I know the GameStop site has it listed an unavailable.

I noticed that too. Earlier yesterday afternoon I was able to place an order through their website for the 16GB at $299. Hopefully they don't cancel my order since obviously I didn't go out and wait in any lines. I'm sure what stock was available in stores is gone now.

My order confirmation still says processing, hopefully I'll be good to go tomorrow.

still no shipping notification from hhgregg. It was not an in store only deal. I waited from the price drop at 1am EST on Thanksgiving to order. I'm sure there was a ton of orders for many things so I didn't expect much on shipping time. I was not in a rush and didn't want to deal with best buy lines.

I think it was just a black friday online price, because I was told in the store that they aren't honoring online pricing and they didn't even have any in stock, that only a couple stores in the country are stocking TF.

How come when you go on GameStop, and click the "Tablets" button, the Transformer is listed at $299.99, but when you actually click to buy it, it's $349.99?

I was lucky I guess to get the 32GB TF101 on a store special at Office Depot just before Christmas at $399. Not an amazing price but not bad either as I can only find them in the $450 range on line and many places do not have them at all.

I was wondering whether to get it or wait until the Prime started to come out in numbers and the price to fall but is does not seem to be doing that yet. Probably by that time no one will have TF101's in stock as I assume ASUS is no longer shipping them.

Since I really want GPS for Photographer's Ephemeris it seems like it was a good call as the GPS on the Prime has been a total disaster.
