Triada Trojan has been detected on Android Devices

A new Trojan malware has been detected by researchers at Kasper sky Labs. Known as Triada, it has the ability to make in-app purchases and acquiring root access to phones.Triada Trojan is very much sophisticated and around 60% of the mobiles running Android are at risk. The malware is so complex that it is compared to the windows based malware.
 
I've read a lot about this Triada and all articles point to Kitkat 4.4.4 and below. Many say Triada can only run on Kitkat and below.
 
Im sure we are safe from it if we only browse reasonable things and only download apps from the playstore.

Both my Note 4 and Note 10.1 are running Kitkat 4.4.4... by choice. It'll be interesting to watch the progress of this malware. One of these days I may be "forced" to upgrade... not looking forward to it.
