Tried many keyboards, but they all seem to lag

Have tried Gingerbread, swiftkey, A.I. Type, GO keyboard and others. A couple of them I prefer over the stock keyboard in many respects. But they all lag when I get going. That is so freakin annoying that I always end up switching back to ugly, stock, no frills touch input!

Anyone know how to speed these other keyboards up?

Its not the keyboard that's lagging it's Froyo 2.2

do you have sounds and vibrations turned off? that is the only way i DONT get any lag. i prefer it that way though so i am happy. the stock keyboard actually handles my quick typing pretty well. although swiftkey X and even AI type work great too.

Edit: though you should know, i am on Gingerbread, havent seen Froyo in a long time so i cannot comment on the OS being the issue.

Yeah I get the serious lag as well on swiftkey x running stock froyo 2.2 it's freakin irritating because it comes to a complete hault while trying to type even with vib and sound off.

Thumb Keyboard hasn't lagged for me yet. And with vibration off it's even better imo
