Trouble downloading files on samsung galaxy note 4

[AC Question]

I recently updated my samsung galaxy note 4 from lollipop to mashmallow. I'm now having trouble downloading anything from the internet, be it mp3, videos, etc..they are not downloaded if tat particular tab is closed or otherwise. If they are downloaded by any chance, I'm not able to open those files. Is this because of the new update or something else? Please help.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you only having difficulty downloading files using the browser, and it's only when you minimize the browser/switch to another app? Make sure you don't have any power-saving modes turned on, and that you're not using any "RAM booster" apps or features.
