Trouble setting up dual instances of WhatsApp on Note9

Hi,

I did manage to get the two icons showing but when I open the linked version
the app wants me to register the phone again.As soon as I do that the original version starts asking about registering the number.
Am I supposed to give it a different phone number?
Is it meant to work only with a dual sim phone?

Dual WhatsApp is designed for people who have two phone numbers (SIM cards). WhatsApp set the limit that one phone number is linked with one WhatsApp account, which means you can only login WhatsAPp with your phone number on one WhatsApp app.
