trouble with adb

for some reason, i cannot get # when typing "adb shell" via adb...i have tried everything. its really bugging me because i have never had a problem gaining permission via adb, any help? please

What have you tried? If you get "$" after typing "adb shell" then typing "su" should get you "#".

yah i do get # after typing su, but shouldnt i be able to get # after typing adb shell also?

There are two ways to get it, and one works for you which is definitely good.
