trouble with gyro

a lot of times, if i rotate the phone into landscape, it will just stay in portrait

is there a way to manually iniate landscape if the phone doesnt auto do it by itself?

The phone doesn't have a Gyro in it.
The accelerometer isn't that sensitive in it, but it's not bad. Check your orientation.

fyi the EVO only rotates one direction for some reason

Currently it only rotates when turned to the left. Froyo will bring ambidextrous turning.

Some programs including the home screen of HTC Sense UI do not support landscape so the screen will not rotate.
