Trouble with syncing to Google Photos in stock gallery app

I believe that functionality in the stock Gallery is no longer available, at least with Motorola devices. It disappeared from my Razr Maxx's stock Gallery after the update to Jellybean as well. I wonder if they're trying to encourage the use of Google+ Photos, although I did like the ability to see all local as well as Google+/Picasa photos in one gallery.

i think the main problem was Google+ photos is it cannot be deleted from Gallery. I think they are trying to avoid that mess.
but my Nexus 4 on 4.3 still has that feature. maybe Moto just removed it.

Yeah, I can still see online pics on my Nexus 7's Gallery.
