Trouble with the play store

Anybody else having trouble with the Play Store force closing after the Oreo update? I've tried wiping the cache of the entire phone, I've tried also wiping the cache of each individual Google Play app. I've even deleted the data of some of those apps. As well as, clearing the cache of the Google Play services app. No amount of reboots seem to help me. I'm at on the verge of backing everything up and factory resetting the phone. As a last resort though. I'm hoping someone either here or XDA can help me out 😊

It might help to narrow it down to some app you installed (vs something with the system). Maybe one of your apps doesn't play well with Oreo. If it still happens in Safe Mode, then you're right, a factory reset is probably the next thing to do.

The problem persists in safe mode as well. A factory reset is in order.

I had the same problem. I uninstalled the latest play store update (reverted it), and then when it auto-updated itself, the problem didn't exist anymore.

I also ran into this the other day, and finally figured out it was HTC Boost doing it. Uninstalling Boost fixed my Play store problems. The strange thing is, the Play store was working before, and then it stopped. Hope this is your problem, in which case it will be easy to fix.

Eeehhhh, I just did the factory reset. Everything works as it did before with all the applications I previously had loaded. Glad I did too, because now my battery life seems even better than the previous improvement. I forgot to take a screenshot but, I had 21 hours 42 minutes off the charger with 2 hours and 37 minutes screen on time and my battery was at 47%😱

Mine did this as well. Using Boost to clear the cruft solved the problem.

Edit: the next day the problem returned. A factory wipe followed, guess it was due anyway. Seems to have fixed the issue.
