Trouble with wireless charger.

I just purchased a Samsung Wireless fast charging pad, but when I try to use it, I get a message saying that the wireless charging has paused a few seconds after I place the phone on the charger. Has anyone else had this problem and has found a solution?

Yes. This is a fairly common issue. I ended up using different fast wireless chargers. What you describe happened to me consistently with the Samsung Fast Wireless charger using my Note 7 , and my Note 5.

Get a few of these. They are 1/2 the price, and work great (you will need to use your own fast charging plug with them - doesn't come with one)

I had this issue. It would start flashing and stop charging after a few seconds. All I did was plug the charger into a different outlet and it has been flawless since.

Try using a different USB cable if you have another one.
