True International LTE?

Hi all;

Currently have a N4 running CM10.1.3. I'm very happy with the phone - and love having an unlocked device. This fall I've used sim cards in half a dozen countries without ever missing a step. I haven't minded the lack of LTE so much, but down the road I do want to upgrade to 4g/lte.

My question is, are there any devices out there selling with true international LTE support? By which I mean that the phone will work not only 3g when out of your home region, but fully in 4g (in any country with 4g coverage?) Is this a feature expected to be on new chipsets/antennas in the future? Ideally I want something very similar to the N4 insofar as it is not in any way region specific - but with LTE.

Not that I know of, so far. I expect it to be down the road once 4G becomes more available everywhere, but right now, it seems, there are two big LTE regions available. Outside that region, your phone will work only on 3G.

It was the same with 3G. First it was divided, and then, as it became more widespread and chip costs came down, they started having more bands available on each phone.
