Hi folks my screen says patching system image after verification.
And it's still there.
How long does that take? When will I know it's done?

Mine hung up there for a while and I started to get scared.... not sure how long it did take maybe 15 minutes or so. It will eventually reboot by itself.

I wish I would have went this way on my Note 9. I ended up doing this on my S9+ and it was so easy to do.

On my Note 9, I flashed the AT&T firmware and then from there Pie updated. It just took a little longer to do.

Yeah from any carrier Akl1 you can do this but if you wanted the Att version download that one which I choose that because att sim but too much bloatware. Wait for unlocked version

I have an unlocked S9+ and the firmware is now universal meaning that if I insert my T-Mobile sim, the phone reboots into the T-Mobile firmware with the T-Mobile bloat. If I insert my AT&T sim, the phone reboots into the AT&T firmware with the AT&T bloat including the DirecTV garbage.

The Oreo update on the Note 8/S8 worked this same way. It seems there is no way getting around the carrier bloat on the unlocked phones anymore.

Yeah for in between carrier firmware flash , sim will dictate what bloat, but unlocked which I been on didn't matter which sim I used tmobile or att it never got carrier bloat.
