Trying to buy my dad a cable to connect to your TV?

my dad really want to use his phone on his TV and was wondering if anyone ever bought a MHL cable before to do that. I found this video on youtube that shows how the cable works but it?s for a projector and I don?t know if it would work for my TV or not. Also, is it really worth it to get this cable. What are some cool things I can do with it?

I'll let your Dad connect to my TV. Provided my Wife or Daughter aren't waitching something.

He will need a LONG cable depending on which state he's in, but I'm feeling charitable. Just knock politely on the front door, the door bell scares our dog.

Seriously, I wish I could help you with some insight on the cable you mentioned, but it's the 1st time I've heard about that particular cable.

This is the one ive got.. Its only down side is the usb cable to power it is a tad short. But if your tv has a usb port it usually is capable of powering your device. If not, it is easily counteracted with a usb extention cable.
