ok so i format the disk on the computer, stick it in the phone, start it up, connect it, and try copying my 16gb card files to it... all goes well.... UNTIL I disconnect the data cable and half of my files/pics/media DISAPPEAR!!!

Is there something I am missing? What reason is there that this is happening? ugh!!!

I didn't even format mine.

Instead of using the data cable I inserted my original card in the media card reader on my computer. Then copied all my files to a folder. then put my new card in the reader and copied all of the files from the folder I just created onto the new card. Put the new card in my phone and everything was good. I had my phone off when the card was removed and installed.

I tried that too... I am completely stumped... I've done six different methods and it's really getting to me! probably a bogus crappy card!!! Just my luck!

Go to settings>SD card and phone storage. The card should be mounted. Also try formatting the card with the phone.

I had problems with my stock card not reading before. Had to try reinserting several times before anything would read. it could be the card or the connection. Try another one.

all the files are on the crd tho...!! until I put it in the phone, then they disappear. i cant even see them when i put the card back in the computer reader.. its like the epic is eating the files/folders!!

What file system did you use? It sounds like an issue with incompatable file systems.

Sounds like your card. What brand is it? Try reformatting your original card and putting the files back on. If it works, try another manufacturer for the card.

Err did you 'safely remove' the drive representing the card on the phone before removing the cable?

Quick question, so you coppied files from computer to new card, put new card in EPIC, then didnt see what your looking for then put the card back on the computer and the files are now missing.

yeah that does sound like the EPIC is erasing stuff.

Unless i am reading what you wrote wrong.
Also do you have a good file explorer on your Epic? If not i would recomend getting a one.

Try to write all the files to your new card using just the computer. Verify they are there. Then remove the card and wait a few minutes. Plug the card back into the computer and compare notes. See if all the files are still there. If so do it again. Then after that you have verified the card is good.
Now move it to the EPIC. Use a file explorer to do what you did on the computer. Verify the files you moved are there. IF NOT put it back on the computer and see if they are there.

Also were you on a different device recently or always on an epic and just went from 16GB to 32GB?
