So I'm one of the unlucky few who cant get the update (box keeps disappearing), so i decided to install it manually with the official leaked update instead of waiting for another week. I downloaded the file and followed the directions from this site.
[Exclusive Download] Leaked 1.70.605.0 Update For The HTC Thunderbolt (No, It's Not Gingerbread)
I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to this, so sry. So, i downloaded the file, changed the file name like it said. Put in on my sdcard and went into the bootloader on my phone, but nothing happens. It loads and then for like 2 seconds it shows its trying to find some files but not found, then goes back to the bootloader menu. I don't think its finding the file, but its there and i named it to PG05IMG.zip. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Appreciate the help.

download a file manager and navigate to the file. make sure it's on the ROOT (not inside any folder) of your sd card. make sure file name is PG05IMG.zip (zero five in the middle not "oh" five), and also make sure it only has one .zip extension at the end - sometimes windows computers have hidden extensions, so you may have a PG05IMG.zip.zip

You may not have waited long enough either, it sits there for quite awhile reading the file before it does anything. And like zero neck said, i would just call it PG051IMG and leave the .zip off....if it still has the folder icon of a ZIP file it'll be fine. Put it in the main directory on the SD card, not in any folders. If you do that correct, then just give the phone some time...it does sit there looking like its doing nothing for quite awhile.

When I updated mine it took 30 minutes. As long as the phone looks like its doing something and not prompting you to reboot right away I would just let it sit there and do its thing.
