TuneIn Radio app missing favorites in car - but not on phone

I'm running Android Auto on a Kenwood DDX9017DABS with a USB-attached Pixel 3. I add favorites to my TuneIn radio app and they appear (and play) on the phone just fine. But when it's in the car under Android Auto some of the favorites don't appear.
Any clues as to what's up?
