Turbo/Quick Charger?

I am trying to find out if there is a turbo charger or quick charger for the Z3 Compact.

According to Qualcom's website the Snapdragon 801 chip is compatible with such chargers but there does not appear to be a Sony proprietary charger and I am not sure if third party chargers from the likes of Motorola or Samsung may be used.

Any advice most appreciated!

While the 901 is compatible with the function, the rest of the charging circuitry in the phone has to be designed to use it. (And, just so you're aware, "turbo charging" is a marketing gimmick. It only turbo charges to 50%, thn goes back to the normal charge rate, but you should never let the battery get lower than 40% - the ideal point to charge it, for maximum life, is 50%. So if you use the battery properly, you'll save 5 minutes here and there. Turbo charging also does a full 1C charge, and you should keep the charge down to 0.75C for maximum life. So people who get the most use of turbo charging will be replacing batteries a lot more often. [I still have batteries that give me 95% capacity after 10 years - but they were treated right. Read this forum regularly and you'll see people complaining about batteries that are gone after only 6 months.])

Thanks for the information. I do not understand the terminology '1C charge' and '0.75C for maximum life'. In order to obtain 0.75C for max life what do I need to do in practice?

I am still keen to find out, as the initial question implied, whether this phone can be 'turbo' or 'quick' charged and if so then which model of charger may be appropriate.

Check out sonys website, believe they sell a quick charger for the z3 and z3 c.

I too have purchased such a charger as well as the magnetic dock charger. This is my prefered method of charging as I have read that some folks are finding that when they charge via the charging port then the rubberised tab days not fit back in to place very well and can come loose.

I have since found out that the charger that comes boxed with the phone in the UK (EP880) has quick charge capabilities. The Sony UK site states that a 10 min charge will give you an additional 60 mins talk time.
