Turn Media Share off?

Is there a way to turn off the Media Share component? It seems to run in the bg all the time. I don't use it.
I know I can turn off the prompt to alert me when a WIFI is connected.
I just want to turn it off until I need it.

Menu - Settings - Applications - Running Services - Force close the service

(Thats what I did, once you open it it stays running in the notice bar until you do that)

It's bugging me as well.

I tried that method...but it doesn't keep it closed (for some reason, it feels justified in existing, and taking up space in my notification bar/battery life), is there anything else I can do about it?
