turn off audible notification for new email

No, no, no! none of this has worked for me: no settings, no driving mode, no text-to-speech; remove all notifications, don't remove notifications, silent, vibrate NOTHING!! I tend to agree with the other user who believes these phones are possessed!!!

I have turned all of the audible notifications to silent, and was still getting a short ring when I received a new email.

Here is what worked for me:

Settings, then under accounts there is an Email Icon, under that icon is Common Settings. Under Common Settings is Settings. Click open Settings. Under added accounts, click each account. Under Notification Settings click Select Ringtone. Select silent.

Repeat this for each email account.

Good Luck!

It could also be that the Driving Mode is ON because I tried changing all kinds of notification settings for my e-mail with Hotmail (which was the one doing it) and it did not help. Then I saw a form for the Driving Mode being enabled and it was definitely on. Check to see if Driving Mode is on. You can get to this by holding down the Search icon (Magnifying Glass) and it will show you the modes you have enabled. Hope this helps! =)

what does the Menu button look like?
The Menu button is the capacitive area on the phone just to the left of the physical Home button. It has part of a rectangle around it with two dashed lines inside, and depending on your settings it is usually lighted for a few seconds after the screen is turned on.

Hi, I'm late to and possibly have missed the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini party, but I have the annoying ring & notifications on my hotmail account. I've tried all of the suggestions from this forums, and it's still happening. I use the 'blocking mode' from 2200-0800 for sanity, but I can't farthom WHY I'm still getting the ring when it's in normal mode!!!

Pamb4 was the nearest but I don't appear to have 'Common Settings' and so can't follow the advice.
Also I dont appear to to have 'Drive mode' on the menu also listed....sigh....any ideas?

I got it new unlocked when I was back home (in the UK last month) and now I'm living back in Bahrain for another 6 months, since arriving here and setting up with my Bahraini network supplier, it's been really power hungry and I've got Go Power Master and have adjusted settings in 'My Mode'

Has this interfered with my ability to see different modes?

Also another forum I read said about a 'quick panel', and another fix through that, but that should be accessible from the pull-down notifications menu - again this icon isn't there...big sigh...

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Followed the instructions given and found that it did not work for gmail. What did work was after following instructions, restart the phone. I know have silence for new emails. ;)
