Is it possible to turn off LTE on this device? At work, the LTE coverage is horrible and I keep switching between one bar of LTE and full 3G/4G. It's killing my battery and when it's trying to find LTE half the time I lose the internet connection.

Thanks!

Maybe try an app like "advanced signal status".

You can do it from here. Settings...mobile data...network mode.

Dial *#*#4636#*#* in your phone and it will bring up all your network preferences.
Click on phone information, scroll down to where it says select preferred network type. Its right above turn off radio.

Change the network type to this:

Then just back out of it and you'll be good. You'll be using hspa+ I believe instead.
As far as I remember, this setting won't survive a reboot, and if you want to change it back to LTE, go back to those settings and change it back to what it was.

The app I posted above can take you to the same screen, for those who do not want to type it in every time

Any way to turn off LTE on Verizon? None of the above suggestions work: Mobile network only gives the choice between global, lte/ CDMA, and gsm/ umts. None of the service codes mentioned here work nor any other codes via Google. And the suggested app just crashes once I try to open the extra menus.

Is this just a case of Verizon locking everything down?

Edit: Whoops thought this was in regards to the s5, disregard this post.

My HTC one m7 international version running android 4.4.2 and sense 6.0 only browses on gsm mode only. I have tried different methods to enable it browses on lte auto, but to no avail. I have even used my SIM on other devices and they worked well on other modes. I need your help cos downloading with edge is slow and annoying
Thanks.
