Turn off notification sounds when using phone

@mustang7757. If I receive a call I get both a ringtone AND a Notification which is triggered by the phone call. I do not want the notification in this case as the ringtone will tell me that the phone is ringing. When I hang up the phone call I now receive a notification that the call is ended. I do not need this as I can see the call is done.

However, I want all the other things that notifications tell me such as SMS or app notifications. They should alert me whether I am on a call or not.

This option is on my unlocked Note 20U with Att on andriod 11 , so you probably dont have this option in phone settings and dont see a way to do what your saying, maybe try Google phone app

PROBLEM SOLVED:

Thanks to both of you for your help. In particular, @B.Didddy's suggestion of SAFE mode worked out. The problem did not occur is safe mode so I looked at apps. I use Hiya as a spam phone call alert. Setting in that app interfered with phone. I changed Hiya and problem solved.
