I was just curious to see if people turn off their xooms completely at night (or at anytime) or do you just put it in sleep mode? Do you see any advantage to either way (besides obviously not having to wait for the boot up).

I turn it off. If im not using it for a bit I just hit the wifi toggle so it wont sync.

My Xoom is powered 24x7. At night, I plug in the power cable, mute the audio, touch my Screen Off icon, and it happily sleeps while I do.

(Someday I need to find a free+no internet access app that lets me set profiles for audio and such, so I can skip the step of muting the sound at night!)

I never turn it off. I just put it to sleep. I charge it once or twice per week, you charge it daily?!?

When I had mine, I just put it to sleep. Only rebooted every few days just for the hell of it and/or if in the rare occasion something gave me trouble or froze up. And I'm sure it'll be the same when I get it again next Sunday.

I'm usually down to about 20% battery charge by the time I hit the sack, so yeah.

Since it's my new toy I use it to about 30% everyday so I charge it at night/morning and only restart about once a week.

I turn it off at night, but for no real good reason.

Will this affect the battery life at all?

I was wondering that too. Does anyone think it might make the battery last longer (the overall life that is, not a single charge)?

What about airplan mode? Doesn't mute everything?
