Turn off scanning when connected to a network?

Hi, my Galaxy Tab S constantly scans for networks, even when I am connected to a wifi network. Is there any way to stop this? I have 'always allow scanning' unchecked, but that seems only to apply when wifi is turned off. I want to turn off scanning when wifi is on. Thanks for any help!
