Turn off screen when using hdmi cable

I recall this being discussed in another thread. I believe someone shared the name of an app that will allow the screen to sleep/go blank. I'm afraid I don't recall the name of the app.

Yes I know it has I've seen it before. I browsed a lot of threads and couldn't find it, that's why I made this.

Try Screen Standby. I think it requires root.

You're looking for Screen Standby, which allows for exactly the behavior you want, as well as the option to leave the capacitive layer on. The touchscreen acts as it usually does, but the screen itself is off.

And yes, it does require root access.

Is there a NON root option?
I have a Toshiba Excite 10, those suckers have the bootloader locked, there is no way to root them
