Hi, welcome to AC!
It probably keeps it on incase you want still interact with that person, try long pressing and moving it up or down see if it disappears after your done .

I have found the reason why the Toast Notifications were staying longer on the screen. I actually was changing some settings on the Accessibility Tab and changed the settings from Default to 30 seconds. I am never doing that again for sure...it was horribly annoying.

Steps I followed to correct the annoying Grey bubbles from staying on longer on the screen:

Settings >Accessibility >Advanced settings >Time to take action >Default. (If it is not set in 'Default', then that might be your problem.)"

Fixed on my S21 Plus.
Open messages, go to settings, go to more settings, go to multimedia messages. Untick group conversations.
Not sure if this makes my group messages weird on the other end but at least I don't get that message every time.

Contacted Samsung help last night. They claim this is an unknown issue and are passing it along to the software development team. The troubleshooting suggested from the tech included clearing the phone's cache and a reset of all settings. Neither worked, but just logged me out of all accounts and deleted all custom settings and app notification settings. Final recommendation was "just switch to Google Messages".

Hi AD1010, While I realize your posted message here is 2 yrs old, I just wanted to Thank You so very much! I could not for the life of me figure out how to stop those long annoying Notification message. I tried different methods, but to no avail. They were staying on so long and visually interfering with my typing. I then google searched for any resolutions, and came across this site and subsequently your message/resolution. It worked!!! Again, Thank You and much appreciation!!!

Is there a way to turn off this dumb warning that "Group conversations will be sent as multimedia messages"? I don't need this warning EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I use lots of group messages. In fact, I'd say probably half of my text messages are part of group conversations. I don't want this dumb warning every time. Is there a setting to turn it off?
How do I see the answers? I am new to forums.
