Has anyone heard how the extra $29.00 a month fees are going to work? Would you be prorated if you have it on for a month when traveling then back off again for 8 months?

Why dont you just use the tethering option (plug the USB cable from your phone to your computer and use its internet over wire) PLUS using the wired tethering you are CHARGING the phone at the same time.

IT'S FREE!

It will be interesting to see how AT&Ts pricing model on the 3G iPad effects these things.

asuman, My understanding is that you can turn it on for a month, and back off, yes. But you can't turn it on for just the weekend, and then back off...once it's on, you pay for the month.

I just got my EVO and the hotspot has some problems. I have tried to connect to 3 different laptops running Windows 7. All with different brands of 802.11n WiFi cards. I can't connect with any of them. I have tried all security settings and finally none. It could be a software issue or the fact that since the phone hasn't been released yet it is not fully functional. I would advise everyone to test it first before fully committing to $30/month.

Great thanks for the information. I did not know the Tethering options that is free. That is what I currently do with my phone but it is WM6.1.

seems like htc evo doesn't support 802.11n

I was wondering if there is any info anywhere that says built-in USB tethering will work. Or are you just saying that people can use something like PDANet to tether via USB?

Seems like people are talking as if USB tethering is officially included, which would be great news, but I don't know where that information would have been found.

EVO Hotspot not working with 3G until July

Sprint just announced that the WiFi hotspot feature is not working with 3G right now. Only 4G. They are working on a fix and should have it working by sometime in July. At least that explains why I couldn't get it to work. I am not in a 4G area. The USB HTC tethering option works well though.
