Turning off 3G

I was wondering if there is a way to turn off 3G because it's killing my battery while I'm at school. However I don't want to use airplane mode because I need the texting.

Not sure if it will be the same for you, but on my epic touch I go to settings, wireless and network, mobile network settings, and then there's an option for 3G

Yep, it's there as a "Data Enabled" check box.

Thanks guys I found it. Also, how do you make a widget for it? I can't find it in the list of widgets.
