Turning Off/Disabling A Feature.

Hi all,

First somewhat silly question!

Just got my phone today, the Galaxy S8 Plus, and every time I switch it off completely, then switch it on again, it asks me for a pin code. Can someone tell me how I can turn this off or disable this feature, I just don't want it there.

Thank you :)

p.s. Android is so much more customisable and interactive than my old Windows phones were. Much as I love Windows, and I love Windows a lot, comparing my old Lumia 1520 to this S8 Plus is like comparing a blackboard and chalk to a top of the range super computer!

Not a silly question at all. So far as I know, it's normal for phones to require a PIN entry after rebooting, and I don't think there's anything you can do about that. If I'm wrong, someone will soon say. :)
I'll move the thread to the S8+ forum for any device-specific comments.

If you have a biometric turned on... Fingerprint, iris or face recognition... Phone will always ask for pin if turned off/on or restarted.
BTW... Miss my old 1520 a lot... The Beast!

I deliberately did not set any of those up. Weird to some I know but I just didn't want to :)

It must be a sim card pin, it only asks me for one when I switch off the phone completely and switch it back on again.

If it's sim card pin. Go to settings > lock screen and security >other security settings >setup sim card lock
Then disable the lock sim card.
