Does anyone know of any apps where you can download TV shows so that they're available to watch offline?

Not sure if you are in the UK but if you are and subscribe to sky you can download the sky go app and on there you can download TV shows and movies to watch offline.

There's good old Google Play Movies and TV. They let you download for offline viewing. However, you must use the built in Google video viewer to watch them. There are other legitimate sources, too, but since I use my TV to watch TV, I'm not really a source expert beyond my DirecTV DVR.

If you're asking about downloading "free" TV shows, don't ask. This thread will be locked in a nanosecond!

In the UK you can't get TV shows from the Google play store :(

Yeah we don't get TV shows on Google Play here in the UK so there aren't many options for downloading programmes. Suppose I'll need to wait until the BBC eventually add an option to download programmes to their iPlayer app.

Apparently some are of the view that listening to radio online is ok, but watching TV shows is piracy... So as someone else said, this thread will likely be closed for inexplicable reasons.

I dont see how its piracy. The BBC, ITV, Channel 4 all have catch up tv apps allowing you to watch as much as you want. All i'm trying to do is download programmes to watch offline on my Nexus 7, rather than stream over the internet.

Streaming or downloading from authorized sources is of course not piracy. Doing so from unauthorized sources is.

Sorry to hear about no Google Movies in the UK. No Google Movies, you use pounds instead of euros, everything is metric, but you still use miles, you drive on the wrong side of the road... man, things are really messed up there. Well, at least you've got the BBC!
