TV on the phone

If the box sits near your TV, how does the phone get a signal 10 miles away?

It streams it through the Internet.. You know.. That thing we all use to stream media, music, news from hundreds or thousands of miles away from servers?

:)

It's brilliant, thank you! :D It's not running perfectly on here but I'm going to try it on the Nexus.

Turns out, I was wrong. Time Warner does have an app and, if one is a customer, there's a limited number of channels that can be watched. Acc. to the tech support guy, unless you're next to your own router, the number of available channels becomes even much more limited. I haven't tried it away from home yet.

I will add a vote to sling box. Works flawless. Nothing like watching the NFL live while on Costa Rica vacation!

The TWC app is pretty lame.
Its been plagued with bugs and problems from day 1.
I have it and can rarely use it.

The comcast one forces wifi (unless you're on Verizon or the app works randomly like it does for some Sprint and AT&T customers) which is beyond retarded.

It's because comcast is working with Verizon. Verizon will get more options like streaming on LTE rather than wifi.

If you can afford the investment, the Sling Box is really an amazing piece of equipment. Not just for the phone, but I remember all those trips to where ever and I was able to watch anything from my bedroom cable box on my computer, tablet or phone. The Slingplayer app when I purchased 3 years ago was $30. What a steal at half the price now.

Yeah it's dumb. I pay just as much for the cable as the next customer so the wireless carrier shouldn't matter.

Either way I use AT&T Uverse and just use the parents account to stream live TV.

Comcast just doesn't want to be blamed for overage charge claims. I understand why they do it. The new updates will allow Noone to stream over cellular data.

That doesn't make sense. What about the guys on Verizon who will get overage changes?........

The logic just confuses me.. By your logic they should block all people from streaming over mobile except T-Mobile and Sprint since they are unlimited.
