Just saw this come up on my S22. How does it work? Is this for stuff like smart TVs? Will it operate Roku devices? I gotta imagine it's quite a bit different from the Peel Smart Remote that was present from the S4 line through the S7 line considering it does not have an IR blaster.

If it's not from an app you installed, then yes, it's just for Smart TVs (I'm not seeing that on mine, so not entirely sure this is a Samsung app). Nope, it will not work with Roku (but you CAN download the Roku app, which will let you control Roku devices that are on the same WiFi network).

I may have to run a anti virus scan because I don't remember installing anything that would download a TV remote app.

It's a Samsung app, I had it on my A71 running Android 11

Do you have a Samsung TV? It may pop up if the phone and TV recognize each other.

I use The Roku app on my ultra it works with my tv.but I was also able to use the smart things app to cast you tube on this tv also.I did also connect with my Samsung tv in my bedroom.just fyi.

That's from the Google TV app, I know it can control my Chromecast with Google TV, but for anything else you'll just have to experiment.
