Tweaking a ROM

I'm new to the rooting game and I was wondering if it was possible to mod a ROM after it has been flashed onto my device.

I have Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo RLS 5 and I love it, but I really like the CRT animation Gingerbread has when you lock the phone. Is there a way I can add the CRT animation? Or can I only mod a ROM with mods that are made for the particular ROM, which are listed in the original post from Myn on the XDA-Developer forums?

Any help is appreciated!

Yes you can mod a rom once it has been added to your device.

There are ways of doing it.
1.) Yourself if you know where to look in the system for the .png file.
2.) Find a mod that is known to work or moded from a sense base version 3.70 or which other version you happen to be on.

As for the on/off I don't think anyone has it. I do know there is a guy on xda working on it but he said it wouldn't be part of a flashable zip. He is leaving it up to the rom devs to included it or as an extra for their roms.

Hope I help as I'm not that knowable into the system yet :). Starting to dive into as I feel I have learned enough to play around in the system.

Sounds pretty difficult for me right now... I'll just wait and see if someone makes a flashable zip of it as it seems to be highly requested anyways.

Thanks for the help!
