Hi guys,
I bought my fascinate back in October
I chose Fascinate over Droid X because sales rep told me that FroYo is going to be rolled out in November.
it's January 2011 and we still didn't get froyo
we should tweet @ samsungservice (samsung mobile support's twitter)
@samsungtomorrow (Samsung Electronics Corporation in Korea)
and @SamsungMobileUS (Samsung Electronics, North America HQ) and let our voices heard

I have been doing that every once in a while tweeting Samsung Mobile and Service. They are at the point now they are just ignoring people and not responding. Definatley thinking about switching...

I would to, some of you guys sound like annoying kids constantly asking "ARE WE THERE YET?!?!"

The people who monitor those accounts are just pleebs who know less about pending updates than we do, so the best they can do is give out form responses. Samsung and Verizon know there is an angry mob of people demanding Froyo, but rushing a crappy update out isn't going to make anything better (the RUMOR is the current build of Froyo for the Fascinate is garbage and not ready for prime time).

Samsung's developers suck (they probably put more money in hardware R&D than software), and Verizon is notoriously slow and picky in testing.
 
Well, after much frustration and abandoned attempts to throw my fascinate out the window, i broke down and called vz. the genius in tech support, informed me that Froyo for the fascinate was released in September, and i could stop by any store and have them update it free of charge. really?! what an idiot. either vz is employing morons to detour us from repeatedly demanding the info/update, or they are all of the same intelligence. making me even more nervous to update it at all.

I haven't seen this many poeple cry about some so small. If you don't like the phone take it back sell it on eBay. Go buy the phone that has it all and works perfect. Oh wait there isn't one out there! Every phone, every car company every one has some kind of fault. Just my .02 cent
 
Look here ok, save your tweets. Samsung is not going to move any faster with this update than they have already planned. Right now I have personally chalked it as a loss. My sights are set on the HTC Thunderbolt. I am just patiently waiting till that phone releases and then it is good bye to Samsung for good.

no doubt, as am i. but on that particular day, i was fed up. i simply asked her if she even knew what she was talking about. of course, she said yes, thats why i work in tech support. my response, well we're all ****ed :).

youre right. its ridiculous. but unfortunately, i absolutely can not part with the big beautiful screen. im addicted.

and extremely impatient.

You can bug them all you want, but the only real power you have is your ability to vote with your wallet next time. I don't know what my next handset will be, but I do know that it won't be a Samsung.

I like everything about my Fascinate except Touchwiz and that it is still on 2.1 update 1. I too have been waiting for Froyo and will make a point not to buy another Samsung phone again.

I would buy Samsung again in a heartbeat if it happens to be the best choice of what is out there at the time I need to update. I did a lot of research before I got the FSN8. Big, bright screen and ability to root were the deciding factors. Only annoyance was the GPS lag. Now that it is fixed this is by far the best Smartphone I have ever had!!
So learn some patience and enjoy what you can already do and may do with root/roms with this awesome piece of tech!

Only thing I will not buy probably ever---iPhool, er, I mean iPhone.
