I know this is a question about Apps, but it is specific to the Incredible. Will any of the other Twitter apps, besides Peep, still send the notification to the bar that new tweets have come through, or does the phone only interact with Peep this way?

They all do, I've tried peep, twitroid, seesmic, touiteur etc. Touiteur is by far the best try it out, the "pro" version only cost like $2 too so it's a really good deal!

Now, if you install a different app, I'll assume you just stop Peep from syncing automatically to allow the other app to take over, correct?

That's right! If you don't it won't mess anything up, but you'll get dual notifications.

Well said. Touiteur is the best.

Alright... I just downloaded Touiteur (Will play with free for a bit) and Twicca... I'll see if either of these works better for me than Peep, which I'm really happy with actually. I'm in no way a "Super-user" of Twitter, but I'm slowly getting hooked on it...

Edit: OK, so Friendstream only works with Peep though it seems... I guess that makes sense since both are HTC apps...

couldnt get into Touiteur, T4A has been my choice so far, might try Touiteur again though

Yeah T4A is ok, just a bit basic for my needs. Friendstream will only work with Peep. I like being able to use multiple accounts, url shortening, and color coding some of my contacts for quick attention while scrolling through.

im a pretty heavy twitter user and i like the full screen widget that peep offers. are the other apps the same way? im looking around as well.

ALSO a big thing that i was disappointed is that i came from using ubertwitter on my blackberry and when you type @ a list of your people came up to help you choose/spell correctly whoever you are trying to mention.

does any of the apps mentioned above do that??

Most of them have widgets (twidroid, seesmic, tweetcaster, touituer) but the only one thats full screen is twidroid. You can use pure messenger that'll sync the twitter app of your choice and make that full screen though.

i like having my full screen i'll probably just stay with peep or check out twidroid and see how that does

Twitter for Android has a friend picker at the top-right corner while entering a tweet. Pretty nice too as it allows you to pick multiple @recipients at once.

All of the ones I mentioned have that feature. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Just choose to your liking. I bought them all =) I am also a heavy twittier user but I don't rely on widgets because they don't update often enough for me. Right now I'm using Seesmic. Before that I used Tweetcaster for a while. And before that I used Twidroid for a long time. Its all up to you buddy.

edit: full sized widget is my main thing that i want. Even if the refresh is slow i wanna fill one of the 7 damn home screens lol. i checked out twidroid but didnt like it so i'll probably stay with peep. theres nothing really wrong with it for me to want to switch that bad ha

curious to those that say they are heavy twitter users....how many tweets/day you have?

I'm not a heavy user as far as how many I post, normal I post or retweet stuff 10-20 times a day on my personal account, on my business account maybe 30-40 times a day plus answering any direct messages I get which normally isn't a lot. But I follow a lot of people. So I would be afraid to know the actual number of tweets I receive per day lol.

just downloaded seesmic. looks good so far. dont like that it has a ****ty widget though -_____-
