Twitter not refreshing as I open the app

When I first open Twitter from being completely closed, it doesn't refresh to the most recent tweet. It starts where I left off the last time I used it. Is this normal? I would like for Twitter to auto refresh like Facebook does.

Haven't used the official Twitter app in a while, but most apps have that 'bookmark' option to come back to where you left off (personally I prefer it that way). Maybe it's a setting you can turn off?

As far as I know, this is normal behavior. It worked that way on my previous Windows Phones and it's the same on my S9+
