Twitter notifications not working properly

Hello. For some reason, I am not getting any push notifications unless the app is open. That means I can't open up another app while leaving Twitter open, I have to actively be using Twitter. I cleared my cache, restarted my phone, and deleted and reinstalled the app but that didn't help. What do I do? I'm using a Galaxy S7 Edge BTW

In the general settings of your phone, there should be a section with notifications. And there, there should be a list of all the applications installed. There, you can choose what notifications you allow and which ones you don't.
At least that's what I can come up with, considering your description.

I already have that turned on. Notifications were working fine for a long time until last night

Which phone do you have? Make sure the app isn't "Battery Optimized" in the system settings menu. Also, if you have any 3rd party "RAM booster" apps installed, get rid of them -- they're useless and can cause problems like this.
