Twitter Scanner

On one of the videos on youtube, I seen the gentleman using what he called a twitter scanner on the EVO. He opened the app and scanned the room and people who were tweeting from their mobile devices would show up on the scanner. Does anyone know more about this? Is this going to come with the device out the box?

Yes - it comes stock on the phone. It's called Layar.

It gathers gps information on people you follow, and then essentially just sticks them on a map of your location. Except instead of being a birds-eye-view map, it uses your camera to show you where they are in relation to what you're looking at. The application can do the same with locations like buildings.

Not all that functional in the grand scheme of things, but no less cool.
I love the idea of it.

i don't tweet and i don't use FB much but i'll be turning all of the geo-tagging stuff off. i don't need the free world knowing my whereabouts 24/7.
