Two concerns for me

Two small concerns for me about the V30. Front facing camera and OIS on the main sensor. I really wish LG would go back to the days of the G4 when it had an excellent 8mp camera on the front.

I don't know why they would continue to stick with a lesser resolution and quality 5mp camera for the front. The ffc on the V20 is hit or miss and certainly capable of getting some nice selfies here and there but it seems like they are kinda leaving the quality alone.

My other concern which is small since I believe the stabilization will at least be better than the V20 is the OIS. I'd like to see a little smoother video footage from the 16mp camera. And once again LG is trying their hand at "Steady Record 3", which from experience with the feature on the V20, which is considerably worse than the regular OIS.

But if they really have worked on this feature and improved it over the V20 AND the regular OIS is even better, that would be a huge win for me. Looking forward to seeing final production reviews.

Yep, I take a lot of selfies with the family and G6's 5MP camera sucks big time. V30 is gonna have the same camera and it worries me!

Yeah I don't know why they wouldn't just go back to the one on the G4. Like they have to see that its not on par with competitors. I only take selfies here and there so I don't mind it but still.

One of the reason i skip it, is because the selfie is poor.
Mine mate 9 8MP is great and takes gr8 selfies, why LG wouldn't put 8 or at least 13MP with ois? That would be another good advantage over the competition

It's not the megapixel count, it's the tiny sensor. Adding more pixels might actually be worse.

Yes but you can see from the video that the older G4 was actually much better with an 8mp camera.

That would be cool but I guess they just focus on the main sensors.

I was under the impression that the G4 has a bigger sensor but I only turned up one source and would rather not quote it as fact.

Yep G6 was one of the worst selfie camera I have used on current flagships, disappointing they didn't fix that on V30 since it's near perfect everywhere else.

True, i actually wanted to buy the V30, the Note 8 hold little interest to me, but with poor selfie and average battery, it's a skip for me, shame.

I'm not one to care much about selfies but if I want a quality one I just use the rear camera.... Works for me.
Yeah I know this doesn't solve the inherent problem but like I said selfies are not important to me and would not stop me from buying any phone if everything else checks all the boxes.

I think part of the problem is that the front camera is primarily a wide angle sensor. When taking normal selfies it's zoomed in so you get poorer quality then when you choose a wide angle selfie it's actually reverting to it's default mode if that makes sense?

No way to know how the battery life will do yet plus the Note 8 has the same 3300mAh battery with an even bigger screen. Just have to wait until real production ready reviews come out.

Yes... it's one Camera and the close up is a crop which cuts the resolution.

I'm looking forward to upgrading Mate 9 in all fronts, which no phone does atm but that's ok since the M9 is freaking awesome and need little improvment.

I'll hold my judgement till i can snap a unit of Note 8 and V30, and do my own tests, since we all use them differenty and on different networks, results will vary.

Hmmm...???
