Two Droid Issues (hopefully simple to solve)

So over the past month, I've fallen in love with my Droid, with the exception of a few issues. I was hoping one of you may be able to answer the following:

1 - I use Verizon's Visual Voice Mail app, and every time I receive a voicemail, they come up on the list using the phone number and not the contact name. I've double checked to make sure the numbers match, and they do. All of my contacts follow this format: 1 - Area Code - Phone Number. I can't find an option to view contact name instead of number. Anyone know where I can set it to display the contact name and not the number?

2 - I want my calendar app to show the daily view upon startup rather than the monthly view. I can't find that option either. Anyone know where it is? If not, does anyone know a 3rd party calendar app that would do that? (One with a daily agenda widget would be a plus)

Hope you guys can help me out. Thank you.

I can't help you with the VVM because I don't use it but you might want to look at getting Google Voice which will do the same thing but for free. You will need an invite to be able to use GV check the application thread for more detail.
And on you calendar if you open it up then go to the day view then exit out by hitting the home key the time you open you calendar you will go to your last view so it would show up on the day view. I 'm not sure if there is a calendar app that would help with that. If you would like a widget pure calendar is a great on that will show the agenda view on you desk top.

You can also get a link through Beautiful Widgets. But yes, the calendar will automatically default to the last view, so if you exit on Day view, you should re-enter on such.

You should just use google voice and dump visual voice mail. Save your self a few bucks each month...

.

I'd like mine to do that too! But just exiting using home doesnt do it. I press home, and next time I launch calendar, i'm back in the month view, and I have to select today's date (after I remember what the heck day it is :) )

Any other thoughts?

1. Go to Market and download a free program called YouMail. Its an awesome program and its free and then you can call VZW and cancel the 2.99 fee.
2.Open calendar>>>tap on Menu>>> select 1 Day>>> then here is the most important thing to remember>>>ONLY tap on home screen to go back to Home screen and NOT on the Back Arrow. Then next time when you open calendar it will go to the "last page" you used.
