Two N7s only one shows in Windows 8.1

I have two Nexus 7s, one original and one 2013. The original displays normally, the latest one does not show up in either devices or "my computer".

Have tried both USB ports on the computer, both cables and other suggestions I've seen in the forums. Suggestions about deleting drivers don't seem to work as device is not recognized.

Any other ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Can you try connecting the 2013 N7 to a different computer? If different computers don't recognize it, I'd suspect a faulty microUSB port on the tablet.

Thanks for the hint. Unable to try now as I'm on extended vacation and using laptop but will try this when I return home. I was beginning to suspect the same thing.
