Two Notification Sounds When Getting a Text

I just got this Galaxy S III and so far I am not liking it much. I did like that you could download sounds for the notification. I set to sound for my text message to one I downloaded and it does play when I get a text message. However, right after it plays the Samsung whistle plays. I cannot find anywhere to turn that off.

Any ideas?

Did you install any other sms app like gosmspro or anything? If so you have to go into one or the other and disable notifications in the settings menu

Open the messaging app that came installed and press the menu key. Tap the settings button Scroll down until you see notification settings and uncheck notifications

The stock messaging app won't inform you of the message and it wont pop up but the third party app will notify you and it will pop up.

No other programs. I turned all of the sounds off and I am still getting the whistle.

Me too I even uninstalled the other app still have two sound now with the ones that came with the phone

Drove me nuts as well go to your active notifications and uncheck messaging and it will only play the one tone you choose
