Two very small issues since Kit kat

I'm not having that red x problem, but I am seeing upon log in...."Verizon Wave service stopped" and a request to approve the security update thing. Easy to temporarily get rid of both, but I see them every time at start up. I'm looking around the forum and haven't seen anybody with the same issues. I would just like to turn them off for good. Ideas? Thx!
